Cold shooting dooms Women’s Basketball in home opener

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A 29.5% shooting performance including just 13.3% in the fourth quarter was more than enough to keep the women's basketball team from their first win of the 2018-19 campaign as they fell 68-51 to Grace College (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops CU to 0-2 on the year as they will head to. No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday. Tip time from Marion, Ind. Is set for 6 p.m.


What you need to know

-        CU started off the game leading 8-5 but an 6-3 run by GC led to a tied game at the end of the first quarter

-        Cornerstone allowed 21 and 22 points in the second and third quarters (only 25 combined the other two)

-        The Golden Eagles were just 3/18 from behind the arc

-        Only one Golden Eagle reached double-figures – Taylor Richards with 14 points
