First half of league play closes with 3-0 road sweep

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles finished the first half of the WHAC season with a bang on Wednesday as they posted a 3-0 road sweep of Concordia. The victory lifts Cornerstone to 15-7 overall and 7-3 in the conference. CU will start the second half on Friday when they welcome Indiana Tech to Mol Arena.
 
What you need to know
  • Cornerstone posted convincing 12-point wins in each of the first two sets before rallying late to win 26-24 in the third
  • CU played seven of their 10 league matches on road and finished with a 4-3 record in those, losing two in five sets
  • Kendra Zwart led the CU attack with 14 kills while Kayla Clark had 35 assists and Mackenzie Vallad, 16 digs
  • CU held the Cardinals to a measly .048 hitting percentage while posting a .263 of their own
