MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Golden Eagles trailed by 15 at halftime on the road against No. 15 and undefeated Mount Vernon Nazarene and rallied with a big second half but the host Cougars were too much in the third overtime to escape with a 117-110 victory. The loss drops CU to 4-2 on the year and they will look to quickly regroup as they start WHAC play on Wednesday on the road at #RV Rochester College.

- Mount Vernon outscored Cornerstone 51-36 in the opening half
- CU erased the halftime deficit in the first 6:19 of the second half as Sam Vander Sluis hit a pair of FT's to tie it at 52-52
- Carter Nyp hit two huge 3's with four minutes to go in regulation to keep CU close when MVNU had an eight point lead
- Christian Rodriguez tied up the game at 80 with 17 secs left in regulation to send game into OT
- Tyler Baker ties the game up in OT at 89 with less than a minute to go. CU had a chance to win it at the buzzer but a shot was just off from Riley Costen
- MVNU hits three-pointer to give them 100-98 lead with 12 secs left in 2OT. Rodriguez hits three on the other end to give us one point lead, but MVNU converts 1 of 2 FT in final seconds to send it into 3OT
- Sluis fouled out with 3:14 to go in 3OT. MVNU too much down the stretch to post the 7-point win
