Baker’s triple lifts No. 7 Men’s Basketball to 90-87 OT win at Rochester

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Tyler Baker hit a trio of late three-pointers in regulation and then nailed the game winner with 4.7 seconds remaining in OT to help No. 7 Cornerstone post a 90-87 win at Rochester in the WHAC opener. The victory lifts CU to 5-2 overall on the season as they will host Siena Heights on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. It is Military Appreciation Night inside Mol Arena.
 
What you need to know
  • Reigning WHAC Player of the Week Sam Vander Sluis had a double-double in the first half (13 points and 14 rebounds)
  • CU led by two points at the break (38-36)
  • After RC took a slim two-point lead with five to play, Tyler Baker hit back to back triples for CU
  • With the score tied at 73, RC had three straight offensive rebounds and a put-back to take 75-73 lead
  • After RC hit another jumper to go up four, Baker hit a triple to cut the lead to 77-76 before RC hit 1/2 from the foul line
  • Sam Vander Sluis hit a pair of FT's with 2.4 seconds left to send game into OT
  • Tyler Baker hit two triples in OT including the game winner with 4.7 seconds to play
