GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Head coach Ryan Campbell and the Golden Eagle Volleyball team will open up the 2018 NAIA Volleyball National Tournament with an Opening Round match on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Milligan (Tenn.). The Golden Eagles bring a 30-9 overall record into the day and will be making their third straight appearance in the national tourney.

  • Cornerstone is making their third straight appearance in the NAIA National Tournament and fourth in program history
  • Cornerstone is led by WHAC Player of the Year Kendra Zwart and the senior has won that award in three consecutive seasons

Scouting the Opponent

• Milligan (Tenn.)
  • The Buffaloes finished second in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) with a 16-3 conference record and were the conference tournament runner-up to Reinhardt (Ga.)
  • Head coach Doneva Bays is in her 11th season and is a Milligan grad. She was a player on the team the last time they made the NAIA National Tourney (1996)
  • Milligan is led by the AAC Libero of the Year – Alyssa Ruppert – who was named the NAIA National Defender of the Week on two different occasions
  • Kellee Geren, Julie Dockery and Elise Gregory all earned All-AAC honors
