No. 7 Men’s Hoops travels to Ohio for Mt. Vernon Homecoming Classic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Three nationally ranked teams will make their way to central Ohio this weekend as the No. 7 ranked Men's Basketball team will open the MVNU Homecoming Classic on Friday at 3 p.m. against No. 9 Union (Ky.). The Golden Eagles will then play on Saturday against either No. 15 MVNU or Olivet Nazarene. All games will be broadcast live on the CSPN.

The Bulldogs, which are familiar to Golden Eagle fans as the school who defeated CU in the 2017 national championship game, have started the season 2-0 with both wins coming in conference action. Scouting Olivet Nazarene – Head coach Ralph Hodge
The Tigers, under veteran head coach Ralph Hodge, are off to a 3-1 start with their lone setback very similar to Cornerstone, against Indiana Wesleyan. ONU will meet up with No. 15 ranked Mount Vernon Nazarene on Friday and they will be led by All-American Nic Reed who is averaging 30.0 points per game.
 
Scouting #15 Mount Vernon Nazarene – Head coach Jared Ronai
The Cougars are ranked No. 15 in the NAIA Top-25 Poll and they are under the direction of 5th year head coach Jared Ronai. MVNU starts the weekend against Olivet Nazarene and they feature four players averaging in double-figures led by Jevon Knox at 21.8 and Brett Vipperman at 17.3.
