MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –
Tyler Baker led the way with 27 points (24 of those in the first half) as all 11 Golden Eagles scored at least one bucket in a 107-55 win at Florida Memorial. CU shot a season high 58% from the field and 63% behind the arc to move to 14-4 on the year. Cornerstone finishes the trip to Miami Gardens with a 2-0 record as they get set for WHAC play on January 2 vs. Concordia.
What you need to know
- After a slow start offensively, Tyler Baker would hit back-to-back threes to go up 6-2.
- Cornerstone would then hit their offensive stride going on a 19-0 run to lead 27-4.
- Eugine Harvey would score the first 17 points of the game for Florida Memorial, but Tyler Baker would score 24 in the half including six made threes to give CU a 56-23 lead at the break.
- CU would begin the second half on an 8-0 run to increase their lead to 41 at 64-23.
- Everyone continued to hit shots including the bench, as a Jonny Strube three put CU at 100 points with 2:22 to go in the game and gave the Golden Eagles their largest lead of the game at 55.
- Andy Millikan would hit a layup and a three in the final few minutes of the game to be the 11th and final Golden Eagle to score in a 107-55 route of Florida Memorial.
