Box Score GRANDVILLE, Mich. - The men's tennis team won all three doubles matches and five of the six in singles to post a convincing 8-1 win over Alma College on Friday night. Head coach
Zac Chambers and the team improves to 2-1 on the year as they will be in action next Saturday at Huntington and Indiana Wesleyan.
Doubles Highlights - The match started with two close doubles matches while CU won easily on the third court behind
Dan Ribbink and
Nick Kleitch (8-2). The Golden Eagles then got an 8-4 victory on court two as Aliaksei Kanstansinau andÂ
John Cocoma put CU up 2-0. The final court (No. 1) was a tightly contested match but Cornerstone prevailed 8-6 behind
Austin Hendrick and
Sam Ottosen.
Singles Highlights - The Golden Eagles dominated singles play, winning five of the six matches in straight sets. Ottosen won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1, Hendrick won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2, Kanstansinau won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3, Cocoma won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4, Ribbink won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5.
What's Next? Cornerstone will head to Indiana next weekend to face Huntington and Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday.
