Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The women's tennis team got back to regular season matches tonight and in their WHAC opener, fell 9-0 to rival Aquinas College at MVP Sportsplex on Friday night. The loss ends a 3-match winning streak for the Golden Eagles as they will look to rebound on Saturday when they face Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne.
Doubles Highlights: The sister duo of
Amanda VerHulst and
Nicole VerHulst had the closest match during doubles as they fell 8-6 at No. 2. CU dropped an 8-0 decision at Court and 8-3 decision on Court 3.
Singles Highlights: The Saints won all six singles matches in straight sets while the Golden Eagles won only 12 games in the 12 sets.
Amanda VerHulst was the closest for CU as she fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 while
Marissa Hooker dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 2.
What's Next? Cornerstone will head to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face Indiana Tech tomorrow at Noon.
