FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The women's tennis team picked up their first league win of the season on Saturday afternoon as the Golden Eagles posted a 6-3 road win at Indiana Tech. The victory lifts CU to 4-2 on the year and 1-1 in WHAC play. Cornerstone will resume play on March 29 when they face cross-town foe Grace Bible College.
Doubles Highlights: CU got a point to start as Indiana Tech did not have a third-doubles team and then took a 2-0 advantage when
Nicole VerHulst and
Amanda VerHulst won at No. 2 by a final of 8-2.
Singles Highlights: With one match in hand, CU needed only two points to claim the overall match and they got three of them as
Marissa Hooker won 6-2, 6-2 on Court 2,
Sierra Griffith won 6-1, 6-0 on Court 4 and
Nicole VerHulst won 6-3, 6-0 on Court 5.
What's Next? Cornerstone will step out of conference play for their next two matches starting on March 29 when they face Grace Bible College.
