Scouting Southwestern (Kan.) – Head coach Matt O'Brien
The MoundBuilders are 27-7 overall after winning their opening game of the tourney against Roosevelt (Ill.). Head coach Matt O'Brien is in his ninth season at the helm of the program and SC won the regular season in the KCAC by two games over Oklahoma Wesleyan. A team that averages 87.3 points per night is led by Cameron Hunt at 23.7 per night. Joining him in double-figures is LaJuan Hardy (15.4) and DJ Wallace (14.9). SC ranks No. 2 in the NAIA in Scoring Offense and No. 3 in FG% Defense (.397).
NAIA Tournament History
Cornerstone is making their 16th appearance at the NAIA National Tournament (14 in Point Lookout, Mo. and 1 in Nampa, Idaho). CU has an overall record of 38-12 in the tourney and boasts a trio of championships in 1999, 2011 and 2015.
First Round Success
In their 16 trips to the NAIA DII National Tournament, Cornerstone boasts an incredible 14-2 mark in the first round. Only in 2005-06 and 2011-12 did they fail to advance to the second round.

Cornerstone joins fellow WHAC schools, Indiana Tech and UM-Dearborn in this year's field of 32. The Warriors are a No. 2 seed in their quadrant and will take on West Virginia Tech and the Wolverines are a No. 7 seed, facing St. Thomas (Fla.).
