Scouting St. Francis (Ind.) – Head coach Chad LaCross
The Cougars enter the national quarterfinals with an overall record of 27-8 after finishing second in the Crossroads League at 13-5. Head coach Chad LaCross is an NAIA Tourney Veteran as he has led USF to 200 wins in his eight seasons at the helm. St. Francis is led by a powerful inside-outside duo of Bryce Lienhoop (17.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg) and Derek Hinen (16.0 ppg and 3.4 apg). Hinen had scored 34 and 32 in two tourney games thus far as USF has beaten Keiser (Fla.) and Northwestern (Iowa). The Cougars put up 81.9 points per game while allowing 74.6 and rank No. 6 in the NAIA in FG% at .505. They also rank No. 10 in Defensive Rebounding (31.3)
History vs. Saint Francis in Tourney
Three of the last four times CU and USF have met in the national tourney, the winner has gone on to claim the championship. In 2010, USF defeated CU 79-73 in the round of 8 which led to them claiming the program's lone national title. In the 2011 national championship game, the Golden Eagles won 80-71 to claim their second of three national titles. Then in 2015, CU claimed a 75-64 victory over USF in the round of 8 in route to their third red banner. Last season. CU defeated USF 66-58 in last year's second round before eventually falling to Union in the national title game.
NAIA Tournament History
Cornerstone is making their 16th appearance at the NAIA National Tournament (14 in Point Lookout, Mo. and 1 in Nampa, Idaho). CU has an overall record of 39-12 in the tourney and boasts a trio of championships in 1999, 2011 and 2015.
Second Round Success
In their 16 trips to the NAIA DII National Tournament, Cornerstone boasts an incredible 11-3 mark in the second round. In the 10 previous trips to the second round, CU is 7-3 including appearing in two of the last four national semifinal rounds.

WHAC Presence in S.D
Cornerstone joins fellow WHAC schools, Indiana Tech and UM-Dearborn in this year's field of 32. The Warriors are a No. 2 seed in their quadrant and defeated West Virginia Tech on Thursday night and the Wolverines are a No. 7 seed, and they fell to No. 2 seeded St. Thomas in overtime on Wednesday morning.
