LEESBURG, Fla – The Golden Eagles had an Eagle reunion on Friday evening as they played against the Judson Eagles and the Midway Eagles. They fell 3-1 in a tight one to Judson, who mercied them 9-1 in the season opener last Saturday. Cornerstone fought back and won 6-4 in a back-and-forth battle against Midway. The split makes the record 4-6 overall heading into the Saturday's spring break finale against Hannibal-LaGrange and Indiana University-South Bend.
Game 1 vs. Judson – Rachel Younts returned to the circle after a strong outing in the circle in Thursday's win over Bellevue. In the first five innings, she surrendered only three hits and one run. Cornerstone rallied for three hits in the fifth inning to get a run on the board, tying up the game at 1-1. Judson tallied a pair of runs in the sixth inning to pull out a 3-1 victory.

Game 2 vs. Midway – The first four Midway batters of the game all recorded hits, putting up two quick runs on pitcher Whitney Denton. Mackenzie Vallad and Jessica Wright drove in a run apiece in the first and second innings, respectively, to even the game at 2-2. Sierra Sanchez gave Cornerstone a 4-2 lead in the third inning with an RBI single down the line in right field. Brooke Leonard came in to pitch in relief in a 4-3 ballgame in the fourth inning. With two Midway runners in scoring position with only one out, Leonard ended the threat by forcing a pair of popups. Mackenzie Vallad hit an insurance RBI single to cushion the lead to 6-4. Leonard ended the game with a 1-2-3 seventh inning with a pair of strikeouts.
