WYOMING, Mich. - The women's tennis team posted a win in their regular season finale which guarantees them their first winning season in program history. The Golden Eagles posted an 8-1 win over Grace Bible and it lifts them to 7-5 on the season with the WHAC Tournament slated to start on Friday in Grand Rapids. CU will face Concordia in the first round at a site and time to be determined.
Doubles Highlights: CU posted three wins in doubles to take control of the match as they won 9-7 (
Lauren Brendel and
Amanda VerHulst) on court one and 8-0 on court two (
Sierra Griffith and
Nicole VerHulst).
Singles Highlights: The Golden Eagles won four of the six singles matches in straight set while dropping one on Court 5 and winning one as a forfeit.
Marissa Hooker and Anna Hoezee each won their matches by finals of 6-1, 6-2.
The 7th win is the most in program history for a single season for the Golden Eagles, upping their previous high of five set in 2014-15.
What's Next? Cornerstone will face Concordia in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday.
