GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles faced Concordia in a crucial WHAC doubleheader. The Cardinals took game one 9-2 in eight innings. Cornerstone responded with a 13-hit performance to win game two by a score of 10-6. The split gives CU a 12-16 overall, 7-9 WHAC record. Cornerstone will return to their home turf on Friday to host Lourdes before concluding the regular season with UM-Dearborn for Senior Day on Saturday.
Game 1 –
Aliyah Lemmer celebrated her birthday by hitting an RBI single to left field to even the game at 1-1 after one inning.
Alicia Ontiveros gave CU their first lead of the day with a sacrifice fly to score
Annie Fila in the 5th inning. Concordia knotted the game up at 2-2 with an RBI double to send the game to extra innings.
Unlike Monday's 17-inning game vs. Siena Heights, today's game only took one extra inning to determine the winner. Concordia rallied for seven runs on seven hits to win 9-2.

Game 2 –
Alicia Ontiveros and
Sierra Sanchez had RBI doubles in the 1st and 3rd innings, respectively. A two-run home run by Concordia gave the Cardinals a 4-2 lead in the top of the 4th. Ontiveros and
Courtney Ducharme each hit bases-loaded RBI singles to even the score at 4-4.
Sierra Sanchez returned the advantage to the Golden Eagles with a 2-RBI double to the fence in left center to give CU a 6-4 lead after four innings.
Cierra Langejans hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 5th inning to extend the lead to 8-4. The home run was the first of her career, and the first Golden Eagle homer on the new turf. Maddie Vassar hit her first career triple to drive in another run in the 5th inning.
Concordia tallied a couple more runs, but the Golden Eagles hung on for a 10-6 victory.
