SXU and TCC down No. 16 Volleyball in straight sets

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CHICAGO, Ill. – Looking to rebound after a 2-2 weekend in Indiana to open the season, the No. 16 ranked Golden Eagles were unable to come away with a victory tonight as they fell in straight sets to both Saint Xavier (Ill.) and Trinity Christian (Ill.) in the TCC/SXU Crossover. Cornerstone now stands at 2-4 on the year and they will face Judson (Ill.) and St. Francis (Ill.) on Saturday.

  • CU hit just .039 in the opening match vs. SXU as they had 23 kills and 19 hitting errors
  • Bailey Cummings led the Golden Eagle attack with eight kills in that 3-0 loss
  • Kendra Zwart had six kills, two aces and six blocks
  • The nightcap featured a .003 hitting % for the Golden Eagles
  • Zwart led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills against TCC
  • Kaley Vaughn dished out a team-best 39 assists on the night
