Singles' play lifts Men's Tennis to 5-4 win over Calvin

Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After falling behind 2-1 after doubles, the men's tennis team won four of the six singles matches to post a 5-4 win over Calvin College. The victory is the second in a row to open the season for the Golden Eagles as they will head to IU-South Bend next Saturday before playing host to Roosevelt on October 20 in their final fall match.
 
 
Doubles Highlights – The host Knights posted wins on courts two and three while CU picked up an 8-4 win on the top court behind the duo of John Cocoma and Tomas Yacuzio.
 
Singles Highlights – Cornerstone then rallied for four wins on the singles court as they won on Court 1 (Cocoma - 6-3, 6-4), Court 2 (Mateo Jimenez - 6-1, 6-0), Court 4 (Yacuzio - 7-5, 6-4) and Court 4 (Aliaksei Kanstantsinau - 7-5, 6-4).
 
What's Next? Cornerstone will play two more non-conference matches this fall, starting next Saturday at IU-South Bend.
