Women’s Soccer wins second straight 2-1 over SXU

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles were able to win their second straight game 2-1, defeating Saint Xavier Saturday evening. In a back and forth scoring affair, Isabelle Eerdmans ended up being the hero with a game winning goal in the 77thminute of the match. CU is now 2-1-0 to start the year as they continue a four game homestand vs. Grace Christian University on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

  • Phoebe LaCroix scored the lone goal of the first half in the 25thminute to give CU a 1-0 lead at the break. 
  • Saint Xavier tied the game in the 53rdminute on a goal by Kimberly Marquez. 
  • Isabelle Eerdmans scored her first collegiate goal and it ended up being the game winner in the 77thminute. 
  • Meredith Haddad recorded the only assist on the match today, with a pass that led to Eerdmans goal.
  • CU outshot SXU 26-6 on the match.
