Volleyball gets pair of wins for 4-0 finish at AQ/CU Invitational.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone earned a 3-2 victory over Saint Francis (Ill.) and 3-0 win over IU-East to finish 4-0 in the AQ/CU Invitational over the weekend. The Golden Eagles got off to a slow start against USF but won 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 22-25, 15-7. CU hit their groove in the second match of the day winning 25-23, 25-19, 25-20. Cornerstone improves their record to 8-5 on the year and has now won 31 straight games in Mol Arena. 
 
What you need to know
  • The Golden Eagles went on a 6-0 run in the 5thset to earn a win in the opener. 
  • Kendra Zwart (20), Jackie Stanko (12), and Bailey Cummings (11) all had double-digit kills in the opener. 
  • Bailey Cummings led all Golden Eagles with 11 kills in match two. 
  • CU had more kills and blocks than both of their opponents in today's matches. 
  • Kayla Clark recorded a career high 48 assists in the win against USF.
