GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles saw four players score in double-figures tonight, including a game high 21 points and 11 rebounds from senior
Sam Vander Sluis as balance helped Cornerstone to a 74-56 win vs. Aquinas. CU has earned a season sweep of the Saints and improves to 17-5, 10-2 WHAC on the year. The team will be back in action on Saturday at Lourdes for a 3 p.m. tip.

- Cornerstone would begin the game with a statement, as Kyle Hayes put the first points on the board with a slam dunk.
- After AQ would tie the game at 9-9, CU would go on an 11-2 run that was highlighted by a Carter Nyp three, forcing the Saints into a timeout.
- Aquinas would respond with a 10-2 run to cut the deficit to just one at 22-21.
- The Golden Eagles would have five players in the first half with five or more points to take a four-point lead. Sam Vander Sluis would lead the way with 11 points and four rebounds.
- Cornerstone began the second half on a 9-2, highlighted by Kyle Hayes second dunk of the day increasing their lead to 11.
- Riley Costen and Carter Nyp would each score five consecutive points to put CU on top 55-38 and force AQ into another timeout.
- Aquinas was able to cut the deficit back to 12, but that was as close as they would get as Cornerstone would go on to win 74-56.
