Women's soccer unable to pull off upset of #3 UNOH

LIMA, Ohio – As heavy underdogs, Cornerstone were unable to pull off the upset against #3 UNOH, falling by a score of 2-0. The Racers established themselves early and kept the pressure on throughout the match, tallying 22 shots. CU were unable to capitalize on a penalty kick with the match at 1-0, before eventually conceding the second with four minutes to play. The Golden Eagles will have a week to prepare for their next match, a home contest against Lourdes at 4:30 pm.
 
The Highlights
  • UNOH got on the board in the 15th minute off a goal from Kate Agyemang, her 11th of the season.
  • The teams went back and forth, with the Racers primarily dictating the flow of the match.
  • Cornerstone drew a penalty kick in the 67th minute, which was taken by Alyssa Visser and saved by UNOH keeper Lisa Venrath.
  • The Racers tacked on one more with just under four minutes to play with Olga Massombo finding the back of the net.
