Come Back Kids
The Golden Eagles came out of the Troll Classic last weekend as the only undefeated team, taking down the host Trinity Christian 78-69 and fellow CCAC opponent Saint Xavier 81-75. In both games, Cornerstone used significant comebacks to defeat their opponents as they trailed by 10 in the first half against the Trolls and by 20 against the Cougars. CU has now trailed at halftime in five of the teams six games, yet posted a winning record in those games at 3-2 overall.

Offensive Fire Power
The Golden Eagles offense has clicked in the early season shooting over 50% as a team in two of the first six games. Cornerstone has shot over 40% as a team in all but one game this season as well. In last week's win over Saint Xavier, CU tied their season high shooting 50.8% from the field on 31-61.

WHAC Openers
Cornerstone opens the 2019-20 WHAC season at Lawrence Tech and has posted a 20-6 record in conference openers under Head Coach Kim Elders. The last time CU lost a conference opener was back in the 2007-08 season when the Golden Eagles fell to rival Aquinas 70-59 inside Mol Arena.

History vs. Lawrence Tech
The Golden Eagles have dominated Lawrence Tech since the Blue Devils began a men's basketball program back in 2012-13. Head Coach Kim Elders and Cornerstone are 13-1 all-time against LTU with their only loss coming last time out in Don Ridler Fieldhouse in the second to last regular season game during the 2018-19 season. Lawrence Tech continues to improve, as the team posted a program record 13 wins in 2018-19.

Scouting Lawrence Tech
A very young Blue Devil roster comes into the 2019-20 with a 4-1 overall record. Lawrence Tech joined Cornerstone at the Troll Classic last weekend as they also took on Trinity Christian and Saint Xavier, splitting with the two teams with a three point win over TCC and a 13 point loss against SXU. Freshman Gunner Gustafson has been a standout in the early season, averaging a team high 15.2 PPG to go along with a team second best 5.2 RPG. Gustafson also leads the WHAC with an astounding 69.6 field goal percentage, hitting 32 of 46 attempts. LTU has been very balanced in the early season however, as three other players average double figures along with Gustafson. Lawrence Tech relies heavily on the three point line as well, ranking 11th in NAIA DII with a 41.7% mark from behind the arc.
