SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Golden Eagles opened WHAC play with an 84-52 loss at the hands of a strong Lawrence Tech squad. CU kept it close early but were ultimately overwhelmed by a balanced scoring attack from the Blue Devils. With the loss, Cornerstone falls to 1-8 (0-1 WHAC) and will look to bounce back against Siena Heights. Tip-off is set for Wednesday, November 20 at 6 pm from Adrian, Michigan.
Game Flow
- Cornerstone fell behind by as many as nine in the first quarter, but a Broghan Gamble three as time expired made the score 18-14 going into the second.
- Lawrence Tech slowly pulled away in the second, eventually stretching their lead to 12. Heading into the locker room, the Golden Eagles trailed 36-24.
- The Blue Devils came out of the half firing, as they ended the third quarter up 23, led in part by their 41.4% three-point shooting.
- The fourth quarter saw Lawrence Tech build their lead to as many as 33 points before the gap eventually finished at 32 for the night.
