GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A strong start was not enough for Cornerstone, as they fell to the Warriors of Indiana Tech by a score of 72-48.
Shelby Nyboer led all scorers with 20 points and also tallied 7 rebounds on the night. The Golden Eagles will be back in action this Tuesday as they head to Sylvania, Ohio to take on Lourdes University
Game Flow
- The Golden Eagles came out strong, matching the Warrior intensity and holding a six-point lead at one time in the first. When the buzzer sounded for the end of the first, CU held a 13-11 lead.
- Indiana Tech battled back in the second, taking the lead a minute into the second. From there the Warriors would stretch their lead to as many as nine before taking a 33-26 lead into the break.
- Cornerstone battled hard to start the third, but Indiana Tech began to pull away, going up 51-36 at the end of the quarter.
- The Golden Eagles looked to claw back in the fourth, but the Warriors offensive attack and stingy defense proved too much. When the final buzzer sounded, Indiana Tech walked out of Mol Arena 72-48 victors.
