GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Junior point guard
Christian Rodriguez surpassed a major milestone on Saturday afternoon, scoring his 1,000
thcareer point while having a team high 18 on the game in a 69-67 home loss to receiving votes UM-Dearborn. Rodriguez is the 43
rdGolden Eagle in program history to hit the 1,000-point threshold. With the loss, Cornerstone falls to 9-5, 4-2 WHAC on the year as they have the week off for exams before traveling to no. 9 Madonna on Saturday, December 14.

- Brent Hibbitts got his first start of the season due to Carter Nyp being out with an illness and hit a big three early to give CU an 8-6 lead four minutes into the game.
- UM-Dearborn responded with a 7-0 run to take a 13-8 lead and force Cornerstone into an early timeout with 13:30 to play in the first half.
- Out of the timeout, the Wolverines scored five more to make it a 12-0 run and lead 18-8.
- Cornerstone responded with an 8-0 run highlighted by a Trent Summerfield three and Gabe Meriwether and-one to cut the deficit to two at 18-16.
- CU regained the lead with an 8-0 run as Brent Hibbitts continued his hot start, hitting another three.
- UM-Dearborn was able to regain the lead at 27-24 and then both offenses stalled out as it was 29 all with 3:15 to play.
- Drew Knickerbocker hit an and one with under a minute to go in the half to give CU a 34-33 lead, but UM-Dearborn's Elwood Tomlinson hit a jumper at the buzzer to give the Wolverines a 35-34 advantage at the break.
- Neither team could gain an edge to start the second half. Cornerstone took their first lead of the second half at 40-39 with 15:17 to play in the period after a pair of made free throws from Tyler Baker.
- Both offenses struggled in the second half as neither team led by more than three in the first nine minutes of the second half. UM-Dearborn used a timeout with 11:36 to play leading 47-44.
- With 10:38 to play in the second half, Christian Rodriguez hit a layup for his 14thpoint of the game to become the 43rdGolden Eagle in program history with 1,000 career points. The bucket gave CU a 49-45 lead.
- UM-Dearborn quickly responded to the Golden Eagle run, regaining the lead 50-49.
- The two teams traded buckets for the final eight minutes of the game, as UM-Dearborn took a full timeout leading 65-64 with 1:19 to play.
- Out of the timeout, UM-Dearborn hit a three but an immediate answer came from Gabe Meriwether to make the deficit just one again at 68-67 with 25 seconds to play.
- Cornerstone saw two opportunities in the final minute but could not get a shot off as they fell 69-67 to the receiving votes Wolverines.
