Match Recap: Men's Tennis | | Ian Kauffman

Men’s Tennis takes a 5-4 loss in tough battle with Huntington

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles fell behind early, losing No.1 doubles 8-1. After the slow start Cornerstone bounced back with back to back wins by No. 2 and No. 3. doubles. Singles play was started with two tough losses and then followed by two big wins. The end of the match didn't end up going CU's way as they dropped both the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches. Cornerstone will have a few days off before resuming play on February 15 at home against Indiana Wesleyan University.

Doubles Highlights– After dropping the No. 1 doubles match, Cornerstone, ended winning the next two matches and took the lead against Huntington. The Golden Eagles had a strong battle on the third court as Nick Kleitch and Dan Ribbink won 8-5 in a hard-fought match.

Singles Highlights– Singles play started with a pair of hard loses for the Cornerstone. Following this, two quick wins by No. 3 and No. 4 singles would bring the Golden Eagles back into the match and giving CU the lead. Unfortunately, the last two matches would go in favor of Huntington, giving them the win over the home team.

Cornerstone will play in Grand Rapids again on February 15 when they host Indiana Wesleyan University.
