GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles took a tough loss to Indiana Tech 5-1 in their first match back in the Midwest after their trip to Orlando, Florida over spring break. Cornerstone's No. 2 doubles match win was the only victory three doubles flights. Within singles play CU only finished three of the six matches within the solo flights. The rest of the singles remained unfinished because Indiana Tech had already secured the five flight wins they needed to get in order to win the match.
Doubles Highlights– Cornerstone started off the match in a tough battle at No. 1 doubles.
John Cocoma and
Tomas Yacuzio match was tied at 8-8 and went to an eight game pro-set that CU lost 8-6. The next doubles match, No. 2 flight, went in favor of the Golden Eagles. That No. 2 doubles 9-7 win came on behalf of
Aliaksei Kanstantsinau and
Mateo Jimenez.
Singles Highlights– CU were unable to finish No. 1, 2, and 3 singles flights. The three singles, No. 3, 4, and 5, matches that Cornerstone played they were unable to win.
Cornerstone has another little break between matches as they get set to take on their crosstown rival Aquinas University on Friday, March 22 in Grand Rapids.
