GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles were unable to defeat their rival Aquinas College on Friday evening. Despite putting up a good fight including two 3-set matches, CU was swept in both doubles and singles play. Cornerstone's next match will be tomorrow, March 23
rd, at Lawrence Tech University.
Doubles Highlights– Cornerstone were unable to defeat Aquinas College in No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 doubles flights.
Singles Highlights– CU continued to struggle as the match transitioned to singles play. The match would go long due to two singles matches going to a third set,
Marissa Hooker fought hard in a long match that ended 1-6, 7-5, 3-10. The other close match that was played by
Amanda VerHulst finished with a score of 7-5, 4-6, 7-10.
Tomorrow, Cornerstone will hit the road for their match vs. Lawrence Tech University at 5:00 p.m.
