CLERMONT, Fla. – The Golden Eagles continued their 14-game spring break trip with two more games on Monday. After a tight 2-0 loss to Hannibal-LaGrange, Cornerstone battled for their first victory of the season against Trinity Christian, winning 4-3 in walkoff fashion. The Golden Eagles improve to 1-5 overall heading into Tuesday morning, when they'll face off against Trinity International at 9:00 am and Carlow at 11:30 am.
Game 1: Hannibal-LaGrange 2 – Cornerstone 0
- The Trojans scored two runs in the first inning, one of which was unearned.
- Cornerstone stranded six runners on base over the final four innings, including two in the 5th and two in the 7th.
- Alessa Baldwin-Buchner had the first multi-hit game of the year for CU with a pair of base hits

Game 2: Cornerstone 4 – Trinity Christian 3 (8 innings)
- Sierra Sanchez gave Cornerstone its first lead of the season by scoring on a wild pitch in the 2nd inning. The run snapped a 33-inning scoreless drought for the Golden Eagles.
- Trinity Christian gained the lead in the 3rd inning by hitting a pair of solo home runs.
- Kaitlin Johnson had five strikeouts in the first three innings
- Johnson evened the game up at 2-2 in the 4th inning with a fly ball that was just deep enough to score Hannah May from third base.
- The Trolls took a late 3-2 lead in the 7th inning on a sacrifice fly.
- Baldwin-Buchner evened the game at 3-3 with a sacrifice bunt to send the game to extra innings (video below)
- With the international tiebreaker in effect (runner on second base to start inning), Cornerstone escaped the top of the 8th inning by stranding the Troll at third base.
- On the first pitch of the bottom of the eighth inning, Lexi Lieske advanced to third on a wild pitch, turned the corner and proceeded to score the winning run.
