ORLANDO, Fla. – The Golden Eagles was able to win all three doubles flights to begin the match vs. Alvernia. CU dropped a very close No. 1 singles match following that. Fortunately, Cornerstone was able dominate the rest of the matches, winning the rest of the singles flights. CU will play a double header tomorrow against Judson University and Penn State University. Tomorrow will mark the third of seven straight match days in a row on their trip to Florida.
Doubles Highlights– Cornerstone started off red hot, winning all three of their double's flights. Both No.1 and No. 3 doubles were able to win their matches 8-3. This sweep in doubles marked the fourth such sweep of the 2018-19 season.
Singles Highlights– CU took a loss in the No. 1 singles flight but were perfect from there on out.
Olivia Kelley, No. 2 singles, was able to come away with the close three set win with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 10-3. The Golden Eagles continued their dominant performance in the No. 4 and No. 6 wins. Both
Nicole VerHulst and
Abbie Meeuwsen only gave up one game in both their straight set wins on Sunday.
Cornerstone will play a double-header tomorrow against Judson University at 11:30a.m. and Penn State University at 6:30p.m.
