ORLANDO, Fla. – The Golden Eagles lost a highly contested match against Cedarville on Tuesday. Cornerstone was able to win one of the three doubles matches. In singles play, CU battled in two three set matches and was able to win one match at No. 2 singles. The guys will be back on the court tomorrow against Kings College marking the teams forth game day in a row.
Doubles Highlights– Cornerstone was able to win one doubles match, that being the No. 2 doubles.
John Cocoma and
Mateo Jimenez make headlines again by triumphing over Cedarville 6-2. That win marked their sixth victory of the season for these two.
Singles Highlights– The Golden Eagles faced a lot of competitive matches within the singles flights.
Mateo Jimenez won his match at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-2.
Tomas Yacuzio, No. 3 singles, was able to defeat his competition 7-5, 6-3. This match win for Tomas marked his ninth singles victory of the season which is the most on the team. There was an intense three set match at No. 1 and No. 4 singles that, unfortunately, neither match went Cornerstone's way.
Cornerstone will continue their play tomorrow against Kings College in Kissimmee, Florida for yet another match on their Spring Break trip.
