KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Golden Eagles started off the match by winning No. 1, 2, and 3 doubles. The momentum from those three wins were taken into singles. The guys won all six singles flights, completing the match sweep against Kings College. Cornerstone plays their last game in Florida tomorrow against Saint Anselm College.
Doubles Highlights– Cornerstone was able to win all three doubles flights in the match, only giving up one total game in all three matches. Both the No. 1 and No. 2 flights were able to win 8-0, sweeping their competition.
Nick Kleitch and
Blaise Eisele, Cornerstone's No. 3 doubles, was also able to win their match 8-1.
Singles Highlights– CU wouldn't slow down once the singles play began. Cornerstone won all six matches and gave up no more than four total games.
Mateo Jimenez, No. 2 singles, won 6-0, 6-0 and continues to play extremely well after finding out he was named WHAC Tennis player of the week. Both Aliaksei Kanstansina, No. 4 singles, and
Nick Kleitch, No. 5 singles, were able to defeat their competition 6-1, 6-0.
Tomorrow, Cornerstone will play their final match in Florida against Saint Anselm College at 8 a.m.
