KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Golden Eagles swept Saint Anselm 7-0, their second match sweep in a row. In doubles, CU was able to win all three flights including a shutout 6-0 win for No. 2 doubles. Cornerstone had another strong singles performance, winning all six matches in straight sets. This match was the men's final match on their trip down south. CU will have a little break from action before they play again on March 16
that home against Indiana Tech for a WHAC match.
Doubles Highlights– Cornerstone started off the match with a great 6-4 win for No. 1 doubles. This match win was the fifth of the season for
Tomas Yacuzio and
Aliaksei Kanstantsinau as partners. The dominant doubles play would continue, No. 2 doubles won their match 6-0. The final doubles match, No. 3, was taken by CU because Saint Anselm College did not have anyone to fill that flight.
Singles Highlights– The Golden Eagles battled hard in singles and were able to complete the match sweep. Both
Mateo Jimenez, No. 2 singles, and
Aliaksei Kanstantsinau, No. 4 singles, went on to defeat their competition 6-1, 6-0. Toward the end of the match,
Nick Kleitch secured the 6-0, 7-5 victory and the match sweep against Saint Anselm College.
Cornerstone will be able to take a little break from their busy week before they will be back in action on the 16
thof March to take on Indiana Tech in Grand Rapids.
