SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Golden Eagles lost 6-3 against Spring Arbor University, taking one out of the three battles within doubles play. Cornerstone forced two three set matches within singles but were only able to seal two victories in singles. The team will play their final regular season match on Saturday, April 13
thagainst Concordia University (Mich.).
Doubles Highlights– CU won one out of the three doubles flights played on Monday afternoon. The singular victory came from No. 2 doubles played by
Mateo Jimenez and Aliaksei Kanstansinau. The doubles team in the second slot was able to defeat Spring Arbor 8-3 for their fourth straight win and seventh total victory as partners in the 2019 season.
Singles Highlights– Cornerstone was able to beat Spring Arbor in No. 1 and No. 5 singles flights.
John Cocoma won his match in three sets by a score of 6-7, 6-2, 10-2. This match "w" marked his 19
thtotal win of the season, eight more than the 2017-18 season. All the rest of the Golden Eagles singles matches were close including a three-set thriller at No. 4 singles that didn't end up going Cornerstone's way.
Tomas Yacuzio fought hard at the four singles slot, losing 6-4, 3-6, 8-10.
Cornerstone will play their final match before the WHAC tournament against Concordia University(Mich.) on Saturday, April 13th.
