Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles were able to win 9-0 in dominating fashion against Concordia University on Saturday, April 13
th. CU won all three doubles matches without losing a single game. The guys continued to control the match as singles began. After this final regular season match, CU will play in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 20
th.
Doubles Highlights– CU won one out of the three doubles flights against Concordia University. Both No. 1 and No. 2 flights won their match 8-0. This win for
John Cocoma and
Tomas Yacuzio, at the No. 1 slot, was their fourth win as partners. This second doubles flight, played by
Mateo Jimenez and
Aliaksei Kanstantsinau, was their seventh doubles win of the season. The final doubles match, No. 3, wasn't played due to Concordia not having enough players to fill that flight.
Singles Highlights– Cornerstone continued their dominance within singles play. CU went on to only give up three total games in the entire match. Both
John Cocoma, No. 1 singles, and David Hertestra, No. 5 singles, were able to win their matches 6-0, 6-0. Two other matches that shared the same score was No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Tomas Yucuzio, No. 2, and
Nick Kleitch, No. 3, defeated the competition 6-1, 6-0.
Cornerstone have played their final regular season match and will play in the WHAC tournament quarterfinals on Saturday, April 20
th.
