LIVONIA, Mich. – In a pair of games that got moved to Madonna's campus due to field conditions the Golden Eagles fell 8-4 and 3-1 at Concordia. CU held early leads in both games but were unable to hold on, giving up none total runs in the fourth inning or later of today's double-header. CU drops to 8-26, 2-14 WHAC on the year with the losses as they will get set for a quick turnaround at UM-Dearborn tomorrow starting at 1 p.m. Tomorrow's games will be played on Alumni Field the home of NCAA DI Michigan Wolverines.
Game 1: Cornerstone 4 – Concordia 8

Concordia got two runs off CU starter Courtney Ducharme in the first, scoring on a groundout and sacrifice to make the score 2-0.

Cornerstone responded with a huge third inning, scoring four runs that were highlighted by a two RBI double from Lexi Lieske.

CU would maintain a 4-2 lead headed into the sixth inning.

Senior Rachel Younts came on to pitch the sixth and ran into some trouble, as Concordia erupted for six runs in the inning to take the lead 8-4.

CU was unable to get anything going after a Courtney Ducharme single in the top of the seventh, resulting in an 8-4 game one loss.
Game 2: Cornerstone 1 – Concordia 3

CU got off to a fast start in game two, getting a run in the top of the first on a Maddie Vassar RBI double that scored Mackenzie Vallad.

Cornerstone starter Ashley Loera was dominant early, holding the Cardinals scoreless through the first three innings of play.

CUAA was however able to take the lead in the fourth with a two RBI double to go on top 2-1.

Concordia added an insurance run off Loera in the fifth with an RBI single to make it 3-1.

CU was held to just four hits in the game as they were unable to come back from a two run deficit falling 3-1 in game two.
By the Numbers
2 - Lexi Lieske and Maddie Vassar each had two RBI on the day to lead the Golden Eagles.
4 - CU starting pitchers gave up a total of four earned runs on the day, three by Courtney Ducharme and just one by Ashley Loera.
5 - Cornerstone struggled on the defensive side today, commiting a total of five errors.
12 - The Golden Eagles totaled 12 hits in the double-header.
What's Next?
The Golden Eagles will play at Alumni Field on the University of Michigan campus for a double-header tomorrow at UM-Dearborn. Game one will start at 1 p.m.
