Women's soccer rides late surge to 4-0 victory over Warner Pacific

PORTLAND, Ore.- After tallying one in the first half, the Lady Golden Eagles found the back of the net three times in the final fifteen minutes of the match to claim a 4-0 victory over Warner Pacific. Freshmen Anna Morgan and Jozlyn Vantol opened their goal scoring accounts for CU, while sophomore Kylie Adams and senior Alexys Riksen added the other pair. The Golden Eagles are now 1-0-0 to start their season off on a strong note and will face Corban University this Wednesday at 10 pm.

The Highlights

  • The Golden Eagles out shot the Knights 11 to five. Eight of CU's shots were on target, with four of them resulting in goals.
  • Freshman Anna Morgan grabbed the only goal in the first half off an assist from fellow freshman Carly Joseph.
  • The second half surge was started by senior Alexys Riksen, who was also assisted by Carly Joseph.
  • Sophomore Kylie Adams joined the party to make it 3-0, off an assist from Jozlyn Vantol.
  • Not satisfied with three, Jozlyn Vantol found the back of the net in the dying seconds off an assist from senior Brooke Dobbin.
