SALEM, Ore. – Not even the rain could stop the Golden Eagles as they grabbed their second shutout in three days in a 3-0 victory over Corban University. Junior

Jozlyn Vantol each found the back of the net in the first half. Sophomore
Makayela Shepperd added the cherry, scoring the third in the 80
th minute to guide CU to the finish. The Golden Eagles are now 2-0-0 to start the season. CU's next match is their home opener on September 6
th against Mount Vernon Nazarene at 7 PM.
The Highlights
- Junior Mikayla Johnson made five saves to preserve her clean sheet and continue her hot start.
- CU outshot Corban 15-14, of those 15 shots nine were on goal. Corban managed to put five of their 14 attempts on net.
- The freshmen duo of Jozlyn Vantol and Anna Morgan each tallied an assist, with Vantol setting up Makayela Shepperd and Morgan assisting Phoebe LaCroix.
- Cornerstone wrapped up their western road trip with two victories to start the season and will now head home for a six game home stand.
