GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A hot start by receiving votes Lawrence Tech doomed the Golden Eagles from the start, outscoring CU 26-8 in the first quarter to earn the 73-48 victory. With the loss for Cornerstone they drop to 3-18, 1-10 WHAC overall as they get set to host a tough No. 14 Siena Heights squad on Wednesday for the final game of a three-game home stand. Wednesday will serve as the annual Purple Games for CU where all funds raised will go to support Van Andel Institute Purple Community.

- Just over two minutes into the game, Cornerstone got the first field goal of the game on a layup from Rebekah Crosby.
- Lawrence Tech responded to hit back-to-back threes and take a 10-4 lead.
- Cornerstone was forced into another early timeout as the Blue Devils extended their lead to 19-6 with 2:29 to play in the first quarter.
- CU struggled shooting the ball in the first quarter, going just 1-13 as they trailed 26-8 after one.
- Shelby Nyboer got CU off to a good start to begin the second quarter hitting two mid-range jumpers to make it 26-12.
- Lawrence Tech continued to find the bucket though, shooting 57.1% from the field with just over six minutes to go in the second quarter as they held a 31-14 lead.
- A pair of buckets from Missy Maas and Allyson Richards forced LTU into a timeout with 3:49 left in the half with the score 33-19.
- Kaycee Sluiter recorded a big four points in the final few minutes of the half to cut the deficit to 37-23 at the break as the Golden Eagles outscored LTU 15-11 in the period.
- Lawrence Tech started the second half with a 5-0 run, hitting a three to increase the lead to their largest so far at 19.
- Cornerstone continued to try and find Shelby Nyboer in the post throughout the third quarter, but struggled to finish scoring just four points in 8:30 of the third.
- CU hit a pair of threes to end the third quarter, one by Charity Ingleright and one from Brooke Modderman to cut the deficit to 51-36.
- Rebekah Crosby hit the Golden Eagles first bucket of the fourth quarter to make it 52-38.
- Cornerstone continued to fight as Shelby Nyboer recorded an and one with 6:39 to play to cut the deficit to 13.
- LTU increased the lead back to 20 with 5:15 to play to force CU into a timeout.
- The Blue Devils maintained the big lead for the remainder of the game to defeat CU 73-48. LTU went 9-25 from the three-point line in the game.
