Women's basketball outpaced by #13 Indiana Tech

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – #13 Indiana Tech proved to be too much for Cornerstone to handle, as they were trounced 104-56. The Warriors enjoyed an explosive night offensively, shooting 61.1% from the field. CU had no answer for three-time WHAC Player of the Week, DeAnn Kauffman, who led all scorers with 26 points. Cornerstone will head back to Mol Arena for a home game this Saturday against Madonna University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm and live links will be available at cugoldeneagles.com

Game Flow
  • Cornerstone came out of the gates slowly and Indiana Tech jumped all over them, taking multiple 13-point leads throughout the first. Despite the large early deficits, CU dug in cutting the IT lead to six with 6 seconds left in the quarter. However, that was just enough time for Emma Wolfe of IT to sprint down the court and finish a layup to take a 27-19 lead into the second.
  • Indiana Tech could do no wrong in the second quarter, holding CU to four points for the entire quarter. The Warriors on the other hand had no offensive issues, tallying 24 points of their own to lead 51-23 at the half.
  • CU looked to chip away in the third, but IT made life very difficult. Tech scored 23 points in the quarter, their lowest quarter tally of the night. Cornerstone put up 17 points of their own, but Indiana Tech continued to pull away.
  • The fourth quarter was more of the same, as the Warriors scored 30 points to push their final tally to 104. The Golden Eagles found themselves unable to keep, as their 16-point quarter saw them finish the night with 56.
