10/27/2020 4:12:00 PM

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – As Cornerstone moves into the winter sports season, the university athletics department has announced a spectator policy for indoor sports in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic. This policy is fluid and will continue to be updated on cugoldeneagles.com as information continues to be provided from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The attached document outlines all of the Golden Eagle policies for Mol Arena and the Hansen Athletic Center. Highlights from the attached document can be found below. CU's first indoor home event is a women's basketball game on Saturday, October 31 at 1 p.m. vs. Huntington.

Indoor Spectator Policy Highlights:
  • Cornerstone athletes/coaches and visiting team athletes/coaches will be allowed two guests each per event. These guests will be put on a pass list that should be communicated with the Cornerstone athletic office via the coaching staff at least a day prior to the event.
  • All current Cornerstone students, staff and faculty are allowed to attend the event with a valid CU ID. Staff and faculty are permitted oneimmediate family member to attend for no charge.
  • All Golden Eagle Club members are welcome to attend. To sign up for the Golden Eagle Club go to - https://cugoldeneagles.com/sports/2016/5/9/golden-eagle-club.aspx
  • Face coverings are required to be worn at all times when inside the Hansen Athletic Center. Six feet of social distancing is expected to be maintained as well from anyone who is not in your immediate family group.
  • Similarly to outdoor events at Cornerstone, all guests will be required to fill out a COVID-19 guest screening survey upon arrival. A QR code will be available at the door to send guests to the appropriate link to fill out the form.
  • Mol Arena will have designated seating areas to limit interaction between Cornerstone community and general guests. See the below diagram for more information on where guests will be permitted to sit.

Fan Protocol

  • During double-header events, fans will be asked to leave Mol Arena and enter the hallway to allow for cleaning and sanitization of the seating areas and gym floor to take place. If fans intend to stay for the second game of the double-header they are welcome to return to the seating area once cleaning has been completed.
  • Pass list guests of athletes will be permitted specific gym floor space following the contest to meet their athlete at the conclusion of the contest. Once again, Cornerstone asks that all fans leave the bleacher area at the conclusion of every event to allow for cleaning and sanitization.
  • Concessions will be open to pre-packaged items only and will be available throughout each contest. Six feet of social distancing is required when waiting for concessions.
