PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Golden Eagles continued their season on Tuesday evening with a road contest at Trinity Christian. After an evenly matched first three quarters, the Trolls built their lead to as many as 16 in the fourth quarter before ultimately winning 84-77. The loss sets Cornerstone back to 3-4 on the season. How it Happened:
- It was a game of runs in the first quarter, as Trinity broke a 4-4 tie by going on a 9-0 run. The Golden Eagles responded with a 10-0 run of their own to take a brief 14-13 lead before the score settled at 18-18 after the first quarter.
- The Trolls scored the final seven points of the second quarter to reclaim the lead at halftime, 39-34.
- Cornerstone regained the lead early in the third quarter, but Trinity was once again able to fight back to lead 63-59 heading into hte game's final frame.
- The Trolls turned a seven-point lead into a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter thanks to another 9-0 run. The Golden Eagles ended the contest by scoring the game's final seven points, but it proved to be too little to late as Cornerstone ultimately fell 84-77.
