HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Golden Eagles opened their spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina with a tough 6-1 loss to Tiffin University out of Ohio. Cornerstone's lone point came from
John Cocoma at number three singles. CU is now 4-3 overall as they continue their spring break trip with four more matches starting with Eastern Nazarene at 9 a.m. on Monday morning.
Doubles Highlights
Cornerstone was able to sneak out a win at the top doubles slot as
Mateo Jimenez and
Aliaksei Kanstantsinau won their match 6-4 to improve to 5-2 overall as partners this season. Tiffin won at both number two and number three singles however to earn the point.
John Cocoma and
Tomas Yacuzio had to go to a tie breaker at number two doubles as they fell 7-5.
Singles Highlights
John Cocoma had the lone singles win, winning 7-6, 6-1 at the number three singles spot. The rest of the Golden Eagles were swept in straight sets, as they fell 6-1 in their spring break trip opener.
CU continues action at Hilton Head against Eastern Nazarene on Monday at 9 a.m.
