GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – As sports continue to ramp back up at Cornerstone, the Golden Eagles saw three different athletes earn WHAC weekly honors in Kayla Clark, Brooke Nicholson, and Nygia Pollard. Clark and Nicholson of the women's volleyball team earned the setter and defender of the week awards after a dominant 2-0 week with wins over Trinity Christian and Lourdes to improve to 5-0 on the year. Nygia Pollard had an outstanding 3k at the Indiana Tech Invite this past weekend for the Track & Field team to break a facility record and set a new PR.

Clark earned the first WHAC Setter of the Week award of the season, after 88 assists through two matches. She averaged an insane 12.57 assists per set, and recorded a season high 50 in the four-set win against Lourdes. Not only did Clark dominate setting the ball against Lourdes, but she tallied a career high seven service aces and a season high 14 digs in the win.

Nicholson earned the firs WHAC Defender of the Week after averaging 1.43 blocks per set in the Golden Eagles 2-0 week. In the win against Trinity Christian she had one solo and two assisted blocks, and then she erupted for eight assisted blocks in the four-set win against Lourdes. Nicholson leads the team with 15.0 blocks through five matches this season.

Pollard earned her first indoor track WHAC Runner of the Week honor after a mark of 10:04.76 in the 3k at the Indiana Tech Invite. She won the event, set a facility record, moved to second all-time on CU's indoor track & field list, and holds the top time in the NAIA so far this season for the event. Pollard continues to improve as she dominated the WHAC leaderboard in cross country this past fall as well.
