PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Golden Eagles had their final road game of the season on Friday night when they traveled to Illinois to take on Trinity Christian. The Golden Eagles came up short as the Trolls came out on top 25-19, 25-17, 25-14. The loss brings Cornerstone's record to 2-20 overall heading into the season finale tomorrow afternoon against Goshen. 

Game Flow

• A service ace from Max Hernandez made the score 7-6 in favor of the Trolls early in the first set. 
• Trinity went on a 9-2 run to open up the game with a 16-8 lead. 
• After trailing 20-12, Cornerstone fought back and tightened the gap to 22-19 but dropped the last three points of the set as Trinity claimed a 25-19 win. 
• The Trolls opened set two on a 9-1 run. 
• Out of a CU timeout, Max Hernandez, Jacob Brinks, and Dellen Veldhouse stringed together back-to-back-to-back kills to make it 9-4.
• Trinity maintained their lead throughout the entirety of the second set and won 25-17. 
• A kill from David Rodriguez in the third set made the score 10-5 in favor of Trinity. 
• The Trolls doubled up Cornerstone again later in the match by leading 20-10. 
• Trinity closed out the match on top 25-14 to seal the 3-0 victory. 

By the Numbers
7/4  – Jacob Brinks finished with seven kills, one shy of a season high, as well as four blocks. 
11 – Eleven of CU's 23 kills came in the first set. 
8-4 – Trinity Christian had eight total blocks while Cornerstone only had four.
