GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles will continue action this weekend after eight days off as they compete in the Bethel University Liz Hossler Labor Day Classic on Friday and Saturday down in Mishawaka, Indiana. Cornerstone will start action with matches vs. Grace and Cumberland on Friday at 1 and 5 p.m., and will follow that with a pair of matches against NAIA Top 25 opponents in no. 24 IU-Kokomo and the host no. 25 Bethel. All contests will have live video and stats with the links on cugoldeneagles.com.
Tournament Outlook
Bethel will be hosting a two-court tournament on Friday and Saturday that will see eight different teams coming to Mishawaka. The teams competing are: Bethel, Concordia, Cornerstone, Cumberland, Grace, IU-Kokomo, Indiana Tech, and Saint Francis (Ill.). Three WHAC teams are in action with the farthest travelers being Cumberland out of Tennessee.
Record vs. Opponents
Cornerstone has combined for a 26-29 record against the four opponents they will see this weekend. CU has never played Cumberland and has only played IU-Kokomo twice, splitting those two contests. The majority of the history comes from a 15-14 record vs. Grace and a 10-14 record against Bethel.
Early Season Block
Despite having a much smaller roster in 2021, Cornerstone still ranks one of the best in blocks in the early season at 11
th with 2.47 blocks per set. Freshman

Kaylee Dykema each have 19 blocks a piece while three others have 10 or more blocks through five games in
Aubrey Lenz,
Kathryn Detweiler, and
Olivia Keelean.
Keelean Strong Offensive Start
Olivia Keelean has seen an outstanding offensive start, leading the team with 63 kills and second on the team with a .268 hitting percentage. She has double-digit kills in every match this season and she only recorded that feat twice last season. 15 is Keelean's career high for kills which she fell one short against Ave Maria.
