GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles dropped their second straight match as the early attack for the Crusaders doomed Cornerstone 3-0 in the WHAC opener. Cornerstone drops to 2-2-1 on the year. The season long six game homestand to begin the year will come to an end on Tuesday vs. rival Aquinas at 7 p.m. for the second WHAC match of the year.

- Madonna wasted no time to score as Grace Thomas sat wide open on the far side of the field and scored off a pass from Abby Werthman just 55 seconds into the match.
- Julie Gouilliart had the best Golden Eagle chance in the 16th minute hitting a volley just high.
- In the 19th minute, the two Crusaders traded roles, as Abby Werthman made the run on the ball from Grace Thomas to score and make it 2-0.
- Cornerstone started to win some possession the final 15 minutes of the first half but did not score, trailing 2-0 at the break.
- Samantha Sebright came into play keeper for the Golden Eagles in the second half.
- The second half began with not many threats on either side with most of the action being played between the 18's.
- Madonna finally got a good opportunity in the 76th minute, as Mary Philimona ran all the way up the middle and scored past Sebright on a breakaway to make it 3-0.
- The substitute Kailey Dodge recorded a pair of shots late for CU, but did not result in a goal as the game ended in a 3-0 loss.
