Women Soccer loses to Lawrence Tech after early first half goals

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone faced off against a good Lawrence Tech team that saw the Golden Eagles down early just six minutes into the game. Cornerstone continued to battle throughout the game but the early goals by the Blue Devils was enough to win the game 4-1. Cornerstone did show late life in the final 15 minute of the game as Chloe Dood scored the only goal for Cornerstone. The Golden Eagles head to Madonna on Saturday for a 11 a.m. start. 

Game Highlights
• Lawrence Tech had an early opportunity in the 4th minute as the shot by Abigail Gray was saved by Hope Steenwyk.
• Less than two minutes later in the 6th minute, Lawrence Tech strikes first with a goal by Jenny Dear giving them the 1-0 lead.
• Lawrence Tech has continued to be the aggressors as the shot by Emily Williams sailed just high in the 24th minute. 
• In the 27th minute, the Blue Devils extended their lead 2-0 after the goal by Reagan Boyle. 
• In the 40th minute, Cornerstone had their first opportunity as the shot by Ainsley Harris missed just wide.
• Lawrence Tech heads into halftime with the 2-0 lead.
• Like the first half, Lawrence Tech came out aggressive and extended their lead to 3-0 after the goal by Dionna Hill in the 48th minute.
• Cornerstone had a good opportunity in the 59th minute but the shot by Ainsley Harris was blocked by the Lawrence Tech defender. 
• In the 69th. Minute, Cornerstone players Ainsley Harris and Scotland Philip had back-to-back shot opportunities but were both unable to find the back of the net.
• After back-to-back corner kick attempts for Cornerstone in the 75th minute, Cornerstone was unable to capitalize on the opportunities.
• In the 79th minute, Cornerstone had beautiful passing that led to Chloe Dood scoring her third goal of the year. The score is now 3-1 Blue Devils. 
• Dionna Hill scored a breakaway goal for her second goal of the game to make it 4-1.
• The Golden Eagles showed late life the final 10 minutes of the game, but Lawrence Tech was able to win 4-1.
