GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The conference unbeaten Golden Eagles are set to play three of their final four regular season games this week with a couple major milestones on the line. CU needs just one more victory to secure the longest win streak in program history at 26 and they need two wins this week to secure at least a share of the WHAC Regular Season Title. Cornerstone opens the weeks at Rochester on Wednesday before a split home/away weekend at Madonna on Friday and vs. Concordia on Saturday. 0-3 to 25-3
The historic Golden Eagle run continued last week with three more victories putting them at 25 in a row to tie the program's longest win streak set back in 1999. One more win is all CU needs to set their own history powered by the veteran local lineup of four seniors in
Kaylee Dykema,
Olivia Keelean,
Patsy Morris, and
Rylie Walters.
WHAC Title
Sitting at a perfect 16-0 in WHAC play Cornerstone just needs two victories to clinch a share of the conference regular season title seeing that they have the tiebreaker over all 11 opponents in the league this season. Three victories would clinch it outright as Siena Heights sits at 14-2 for second place in the WHAC with their only losses to the Golden Eagles. CU looks to win their second WHAC Regular Season Title in the last three years as they did so in 2020.
Four Wins from Lenhart's 300
Head Coach
Megan Lenhart could earn her 300
th career coaching victory with a perfect 4-0 end to the year as it would give her 91 victories at Cornerstone and 209 during her time at Davenport. A perfect 4-0 end would also make CU the second ever team in the WHAC to go a perfect 20-0 in the WHAC Regular Season.
