GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Golden Eagles continue to see multiple athletes earn honors at the WHAC level as four players earned Conference Player of the Week awards. Cornerstone cross country and the women's volleyball team highlight this week's honors as
Anna Martin,
Luke Pohl,
Olivia Keelean, and
Aubrey Lenz all earn honors. Keelean earns her second consecutive Attacker of the Week, while
Aubrey Lenz earns her fourth Setter of the Week in the last five weeks.
Anna Martin - WHAC Runner of the Week
Sophomore
Anna Martin earns her first WHAC Cross Country Runner of the Week in the 2022 season after recording the fastest time of any Golden Eagle at the Greater Louisville Classic. Martin ran a time of 18:02.1 to finish 10th overall and record her fastest mark of the 2022 season.
Luke Pohl - WHAC Runner of the Week
Senior
Luke Pohl earns his second WHAC Runner of the Week award after finishing fourth overall at the Greater Louisville Classic. Pohl ran a time of 24:20.1 which serves as his fastest time in the 2022 season and second time in the 24 minute mark. Pohl holds the school record time of 24:06 that he ran last year at the Greater Louisville Classic.
Olivia Keelean - WHAC Attacker of the Week
Senior
Olivia Keelean earns her second WHAC Attacker of the Week in a row after another outstanding week hitting above .300. Keelean recorded double-digit kills in all three matches this week as Cornerstone kept the win streak alive with a pair of sweeps and a four set victory at Concordia. Keelean has now had double-digit kills in seven consecutive matches and she has seven double-doubles on the year.
Aubrey Lenz - WHAC Setter of the Week
Sophomore
Aubrey Lenz has now won four of the last five Setter of the Week awards as she suprassed 2,000 career assists this week in the home match vs. Madonna. Lenz ranks top five in both assists and service aces among the NAIA this year and she has been dominant with a WHAC leading 10.82 assists per set. She has played every set this season and has been crucial in helping CU to their 18 game winning streak.
Cornerstone cross country will next be back in action on October 22 at Riverside Park for the Greater Louisville Classic. CU women's volleyball has just one match this week as they travel to UM-Dearborn on Wednesday at 7 p.m. to take on the much improved Wolverines.
